Simeng (Simone) Shao
I received my PhD in Statistics at the Data Sciences and Operations department in the Marshall School of Business at USC. I was fortunate to be advised by Dr. Adel Javanmard and Dr. Jacob Bien. Before joining USC, I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Statistics at Renmin University of China.
My research interests centers around developing machine learning tools for solving real-world problems and exploiting data with different structures, such as high-dimensionality and rare features. My work mainly lies in the following areas: multiple testing, high-dimensional statistics, selective inference and dynamic pricing.
I started working as an applied scientist at Amazon since Aug 2022.
